I know this place. I was there.
"Success without health, alignment and self-respect means nothing. I had to lose myself completely to understand that."
I started in gyms and personal training in Scotland. Long hours. From the outside it looked like things were moving. Internally I was burnt out, disconnected, and honestly lost. I'd been through periods of addiction, self-doubt and chasing validation through work, money and external achievement, thinking the next milestone would finally make me feel enough.
The turning point wasn't a new programme or a morning routine. It was the realisation that I was building a life that looked good on paper while quietly becoming a version of myself I didn't respect. The success meant nothing while I was still operating below my own standard.
I became obsessed with understanding how the body, mindset, energy and environment actually shape the way a man experiences his life. Not just performs it. The physique wasn't the goal, it was the gateway. Building it forced me to confront every other area I'd been avoiding: confidence, direction, relationships, identity, the way I carry myself.
Over years of rebuilding, physically, mentally, emotionally, I developed the systems and philosophy that became Lewis McFarlane Coaching. Everything I teach has been lived first. This isn't theory. It's the exact process that took me from operating below my potential to building a life I'm genuinely proud of in every area.
